It was an 8-hour endurance of pain when Keke got this tattoo done on her body. It covers most part of her body. This tattoo is the result of her trip to Budapest which left such an impression over her life that she decided to get inked in the form of an expanded sunflower and a butterfly. She had accepted the fact that this tattoo has been the most painful one ever. She had stripped down to her fans thus revealing her major tattoo which runs from her upper torso down to her hips.

11. Pyramids + “Queen of Kush”

Keke Palmar - Queen Tattoo

The Kingdom of Kush, an ancient African Nubian Kingdome situated at the junction of the rivers Blue Nile, White Nile, and River Atbara. The kingdom controlled the Egypt entirely; however, the best part was it had a history of female rulers. This is what appealed to Keke! Amanirenas was one of the famous Queens of Kush, who was able to communicate a peace treaty for Kushites, so as an inspiration from this female ruler, and a tribute to her ancestors, Keke got this tattoo inked on the back of her neck in June 2016.

Keke said this in an interview with Hot 97:

I’m just trying to learn more about myself and learn about the history outside of America, my American history. I want to learn more about my ancestors over in Africa. I don’t want to always think about slavery as the only thing that happened to black folks. We actually have another history that we don’t really hear that much about where we were kings and queens. I want to hear more about that.
