G Herbo’s 10 Tattoos & Their Meanings

Herbert Randall Wright III, known by his stage names, G Herbo and Lil Herb is an American songwriter and rapper. He started his career with his mixtapes in 2014 and received fame. He released his debut studio album, Humble Beast in 2017 and is currently signed with Machine Entertainment Group.

Herbo has many tattoos on his body, covering his arms and stomach. Let us look at his inks and the meanings behind them.

1. ‘Sun’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The left shoulder of the rapper has a tattoo of the sun on it with a halo ring over its head. A similar sun was also tattooed on his other shoulder until he got the tattoo covered up by another one.

2. DreamTeam Tattoo

Tattoo: Herbo’s left upper arm has the logo, “150 DREAMTEAM NLMB” tattooed on it inside a swirly design.

Meaning: The tattoo on his arm represents the 150 Dream Team Label by the Cinematic Music Group and G Herbo, with whom he has released many of his mixtapes since 2015. The “NLMB” is an acronym that he uses a lot that stands for, “Never Leave My Brothers”.

3. ’79th’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The number, “79th” is tattooed on the side of his left forearm inside a design of flames.

Meaning: The tattoo of the number on his arm is a tribute to the street where he grew up. The tattoo represents the 79th St & S Essex Ave in Chicago where the rapper spent his childhood. There is another tattoo as a tribute to his city on his body too as you will read further.

Tattoo: The numbers, 9, 5, and 8 are tattooed on the inside of his left elbow, in red and black ink.

5. ‘Skull and Scribbles’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The inside of Herbo’s left forearm has a large graffiti tattoo on it that shows a wall with a skull design right in its middle, surrounded by scribbled words and patterns. The patterns have different words like “MOD SQUAD” and motivational words, money bags, and designs.

6. Angel Tattoo

Tattoo: The right upper arm of the rapper has a large tattoo design covering it. The tattoo starts at his shoulder with tattoos of dove birds. Below them is a large stairwell tattooed that ends with a tattoo of an angel on his arm. The rest of his arm is covered in tattoos of clouds on it. The name, “Diane” is also tattooed below the whole design inside a banner.

Meaning: The tattoo shows a guardian angel that represents protection and also peace for his late mother, Diane, whose name is tattooed on his arm.

7. Woman Tattoo

Tattoo: The inside of his right forearm has a tattoo of a portrait of the face of a woman on it with a banner below it that has a date tattooed inside it.

Meaning: This is also a tribute tattoo for his mother who is also the woman in the portrait and the date that she died is tattooed below it.

8. Quote Tattoo

Tattoo: The right bicep of the rapper has a quote tattooed on it that reads, “I used to couldn’t stand the rain. now the storming keeps me sane like I’m immune to pain”.

Meaning: The lines tattooed on his bicep come from one of his own songs, Rain 2 from the Humble Beast album.

9. Name and Heart Tattoo

Tattoo: Herbo’s chest has the name, “Yosohn” tattooed across it and also has a little heart tattooed near his left nipple with the date, “04.11.2017” inside it.

Meaning: The name on his chest is the name of his beloved son, Yosohn Santana Wright. The heart on his left pec has the date on which his daughter was born.

10. ‘773 and Earth’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The middle of Herbo’s stomach has a large wound tattooed on it that is bleeding. The number, 773 is tattooed across the wound. There is also a tattoo of the earth tattooed below the wound that has money bills on it along with the landmasses. The earth also has drops of blood, that are dripping from the wound tattoo above. The earth on his stomach is also surrounded by tattoos of stitches on his skin.

Meaning: The number, 773 is another tribute tattoo to Chicago, the city where he was born and grew up in. The tattoo of the wound on his stomach and the earth with money covered in it represents the idea of blood money and how the earth is getting destroyed but the people only care about their money instead of doing anything about it.
