It’s really hard to chase a lofty dream you know for me baseball you know every little boy in the world grows up wants to be a pro baseball player and a very few people are going to get the opportunity but you know I wasn’t going to quit until an injury maybe you know and then I turn around and I’m like okay music that’s just an unlikely if not more unlikely and I don’t know what it isn’t me that refuses to quit it I think it’s kind of like dare to dream if something’s gonna make you happy and you know it’s going to make you happy it’s what you want more than anything in the world you know don’t let anybody else discourages you and talk you out of doing it just because they are doubters you know it feels like home follow its path but what you won’t go get it.”

The whole quote is where words fail music speaks and I think for me as a songwriter that just speaks volumes because I’m a lyricist and sometimes I overthink what we’re saying and just kind of abandon the fact that there’s a feeling being created sometimes it doesn’t have to be the most poetic thing sometimes you got to say it right down the middle and that’s the thing people are going to connect to and sometimes aren’t listening to what you’re saying. They’re just listening to a mood or the music you know that’s backing the lyric and so I think music is a powerful thing, lyrics are a powerful thing, the whole body of it is a powerful thing. I just this is just me saying like music kind of saved my life.”
