Dustin Poirier is an American professional mixed martial artist, who is currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and competes in the Lightweight division. He has been trained at Gladiators Academy under retired MMA fighter Tim Credeur. Besides his outstanding victories and amazing performance, Poirier has got multiple inks on his body. When asked about the inspiration of having these many inks he said,
“In Louisiana lot of guys had tattoos before they were 14 and they were covered with the whole of them, they were made at house and were done by tattoo guns. I started getting too until my mother told me to stop and make it official if I want to get tattoos by getting it done from some tattoo parlour and avoid getting some skin disease.”
“When I used to look at my grandfather, he was in the navy, he was a gentleman and his chest his legs were covered in tattoos, there were tattoos all over his chest.”

1. ‘Daughter’s Name’ Tattoo
Tattoo: Right over the top of his right pec, Dustin has got the name of his first child i.e his daughter’s name inked, which can be read as Parker Noelle Poirier who was born on August 20, 2016.
“I have got four women’s names inked on my body because I have been brought up by women and I think they are powerful.”
2. ‘Tiger Stripes’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The complete skin of his left pec is inked with tiger stripes followed by three Japanese characters inside them.
Meaning: The tiger stripes represent that he is a fighter and a warrior and always wishes to win in his fights. The three Japanese characters on his chest say bushidō (武士道, “the way of warriors”).
“I wanted something in the middle so i got bushido i.e the code for warrior, I think i have always been a fighter and a warrior. I did not choose this it kind of just happened, and I love this life.”

3. ‘Rose and Falling Petals’ Tattoo
Tattoo: Right on the shoulder of his right arm, Dustin has got the tattoo of a huge red rose followed by the colored rose petals falling from it inked right below the rose.
4. ‘Black Bands’ on Right Upper Arm
Tattoo: There exist dark black bands wrapped up around Dustin’s right bicep. He got this a cover-up to his previous ink which contained his area code, 337 tattooed.
“It is a Cover-up to my previous quote of 337. It was my area code and I thought it was done very bad.”

Tattoo: Dustin has a beautiful tattoo representing a phoenix rising from the flames inked on the inner side of his right bicep.

Tattoo: Dustin’s upper portion of the hand is covered with the tattoo, fleur–de–lis.
Meaning: Fleur–de–lis which means Flower of Three i.e it stands for Lily Flower in French. Dustin got it inked because he was born in Louisiana, and this designed Lily is the symbol of the French Royal Arms in Louisiana. It is also considered the symbol of peace and purification as according to the olden times a golden lily (or iris) was used as a symbol of purification upon the person’s conversion into Christianity.
