Anthony Leon “P. J.” Tucker Jr. is an American professional basketball player. He plays in the NBA for the Houston Rockets. He played college basketball at the University of Texas and has represented Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns too. Both of PJ’s arms are completely covered in tattoos. Let us take a look at the ones he has and the meanings behind them.
1. ‘Spiderweb’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The left shoulder of the player is covered in a tattoo of spiderweb design. There is also a spider tattooed below the web in between clouds.
2. ‘Jesus’ Tattoo
Tattoo: His left upper arm contains a tattoo of the face of Jesus Christ, wearing the crown of thorns, below his spider tattoo. The tattoo also has clouds tattooed above it with light shining through them on Jesus’ face.
Meaning: The tattoo of the face of Jesus on his arm represents his religious views. The tattoo shows how deep his faith is and how Christ protects him at all times.
3. ‘Baby’ Tattoo
Tattoo: There is a baby angel tattooed on the player’s left bicep. The angel is sitting on top of clouds.
Meaning: The tattoo of the cherub on his body serves as a symbol of protection and acts as his guardian.
4. ‘FOE affiliated’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The left bicep of the player also has a hand outlined on it making a gesture with the ring finger folded. The words, “F.O.E affiliated” are also tattooed below the hand.
5. ‘Sun’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The upper part of his left forearm contains a tattoo of the sun on it. The sun also has a weird face inside it and the flames around it cover most of his forearm. There are also a few words tattooed above the sun and the letters, “U” and “B” are tattooed near his wrist. There is also a word tattooed on the upper left wrist of the player.
6. ‘Candy Skulls’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The inner side of his left forearm contains a tattoo of two candy skulls on it. One of the skulls is also wearing sunglasses and a hat.
Meaning: The candy skulls on his arm represent a celebration of life. They are also done to represent that the dead relatives have finally found peace.
7. ‘Jesus and Quote’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The right shoulder of the player has another tattoo of Jesus Christ, this time on the cross with the sun and clouds behind his head. The quote, “Only God Can Judge Me” is tattooed around Jesus.
Meaning: The tattoo represents the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to save humanity. The tattoo also shows his faith and how PJ believes that only God can judge him and how he pays little attention to what others think of him.
8. ‘Pinup Girl’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The back of his right shoulder has a pin-up girl with an afro hairstyle tattooed on it.
9. ‘RR’ Tattoo
Tattoo: PJ’s right bicep contains the letters, “RR” tattooed on it inside a box with the words, “RUFF RALEIGH” tattooed around the letters.
Meaning: The tattoo represents his hometown of Raleigh and The RR stands for “Ruff Raleigh” which is a motorcycle organization called Ruff Ryders of Raleigh that also helps the community of Raleigh. The player is also a part of the Riders.
10. ‘Initials’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The initials, “K.J.F” are also tattooed on his upper right arm.
11. ‘Girl and Roses’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The upper part of his right forearm contains a tattoo of a portrait of a girl’s face on it. There are also rose flowers and words tattooed around the face of the girl. There is a word tattooed on his right wrist just like his other one.
Meaning: The girl on his forearm is his daughter, Aaliyah Tucker, whom he adores very much. Tucker is married to Tracy and the couple has two kids, Aaliyah and King.
12. ‘Hand’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The player’s right hand contains the word, “Cash” tattooed on it surrounded by flames. His left one has the word, “Rules” tattooed on it in a similar flames design.
Meaning: The tattoo together forms the sentence, “Cash Rules”. The words are from the famous quote, “Cash Rules everything around me” which represents the reality of people who live in or come from poverty as a symbol of the struggle they face to make both ends meet.
13. ‘Chain’ Tattoo
Tattoo: There is a chain tattooed around his neck that connects both the tattoos on his chest.
14. ‘Quote’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The right pec of the player has a banner tattooed on it that has the quote, “WHAT CANT KILL ME WILL ONLY MAKE ME STRONGER”
Meaning: The quote on his chest is a motivational one that pushes PJ to work hard and face his fears both on and off the court.
15. ‘Dishonor’ Tattoo
Tattoo: PJ’s left pec has a tattoo of two hands shaking each other with the words, “Death Before Dishonor” tattooed below it.
Meaning: The tattoo on his left pec comes from a saying, “Death before dishonor” that represents the honorable way to go. One should embrace death before one brings dishonor unto themselves. The tattoo is also a gang tattoo in many gangs that represents the same idea, to die before bringing dishonor to the gang.
16. ‘Wings’ Tattoo
Tattoo: There is a pair of wings tattooed on the back of the player’s neck.
Meaning: The tattoo of the wings on his neck represents independence and also serves as a symbol of his faith.
17. ‘Portrait’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The left lower leg of the player contains a portrait tattoo of two people meeting each other and shaking hands. There is also a tattoo of two checkered flags in the shape of a cross below their feet. The numbers, “03 31 19” are also tattooed near the portrait.
Meaning: The tattoo on his leg is a tribute portrait of himself and his idol and friend, Nipsey Hussle. The numbers represent the date, 13 March 2019 which is the date that the rapper was gunned down. The tattoo was done off the photo taken that can be seen below. The tattoo represents how much he loved the rapper and wanted to commemorate his friendship by getting a tattoo of Nipsey.
