Frédéric Leclercq’s 17 Tattoos & Their Meanings

Frédéric Alexandre “Fred” Leclercq is a French musician and producer. He is most famous for being the former bassist for the British power metal band, DragonForce. He is the lead guitarist and songwriter for the death metal group, Sinsaenum, the guitarist and vocalist for Maladaptive, and the bassist for Kreator and Loudblast.

1. ‘Pentagram and Devil’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The left shoulder of the guitarist has a tattoo of a pentagram on it. There is also a tattoo of the Sigil of Baphomet on his left arm below the pentagram. The sigil has different symbols inside it with the head of Baphomet inside it. The devil’s number, “666” is also tattooed inside the sigil. The background of both tattoos is covered in huge red flames. Frederic later added bones and metal tubes around the tattoo design to fully cover his arm.

Meaning: The pentagram and Sigil both are a part of the demonic culture and designs that rock bands and heavy metal fans incorporate in their designs.

Tattoo: Frederic’s left bicep has a tattoo of a skull on it and there is a flower tattooed below the skull. Both tattoos share the same background of flames and metal structures as the rest of his upper arm.

Meaning: The skull represents death and the flower represents life. The tattoos occurring together represent the cycle of life and death. The skull and rose can also symbolize together the birth of a new life as obstacles or enemies have been defeated.

Tattoo: There is another skull tattooed on the upper part of his left forearm, covering his elbow.

4. ‘Triangle’ Tattoo

Tattoo: There is a tattoo of two trees leaning against each other forming a triangle tattooed on the side of his left forearm. There is also a clef tattooed inside the triangle and the letters, “F and P” are also tattooed there in red ink.

Meaning: The tattoo design is a unique one and represents all the things that he loves. The clef represents his love for music and the letters represent the names of his parents.

5. ‘Raven’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The head of a raven is tattooed below the triangle on the side of his left forearm.

Tattoo: The inside of his left forearm has a tattoo of purple demons on it carrying different weapons. One of the demons is seen stabbing a dead body with a spear. The word, “CORE” is also tattooed in a red bloody design on the inside of his elbow.

7. ‘Logo’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The inside of his left wrist has a logo tattooed on it.

Meaning: The logo on his wrist is the logo of his current band, Sinsaenum. The design represents the “AE” in the band’s name mashed together.

8. Forearm Tattoo

Tattoo: The left forearm of the guitarist is completed by smoke and metal tubes tattooed around it to fill the empty spaces on his arm.

9. Japanese Tattoo

Tattoo: The inner side of his right wrist has a Japanese character tattooed on it.

Meaning: The Japanese symbol on his wrist represents the word, Tsumi which means sin. He revealed the tattoo on social media along with the caption, “Thanx to Kato Makoto for my awesome new tattoo! Tsumi (罪) is Japanese for “sin” Getting tattooed in Japan is something I wanted to do for a long time!

10. ‘Serpent’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The upper part of his right forearm has a tattoo of a large serpent on it.

11. ‘Goblin’ Tattoo

Tattoo: There is a goblin tattooed on the inner side of his forearm, above the Japanese character.

Meaning: The goblin is tattooed inside a ring, and is seen playing the violin. The design comes from the cover of Devil’s Trill Sonata by Giuseppe Tartini.

Tattoo: The right forearm of the guitarist has another design covering the area around his elbow.

Meaning: The tattoo design on his elbow represent the name of his band’s album, Repulsion for Humanity. The same design is also the cover of the album.

Tattoo: The guitarist’s right bicep has a tattoo of a portrait of a man on it with a heart below it and a design above his head.

15. ‘Poop’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The front of his right leg has a tattoo of pink poop on it a little below his knee.

Meaning: The tattoo of the pink poop on his leg comes from one of his favorite manga series, Dr. Slump. The poop from Dr. Slump is known as Mr. Poop or Poop-Boy. There are other characters from the manga tattooed on his leg too.

Tattoo: The front and inner side of his right lower leg have another tattoo of characters on it. The characters include a crocodile, an ape, a lion around the fire.

Meaning: The tattoo of the characters on his leg is another one of his tattoos that shows his love for the show, Dr.Slump. Frederic posted the tattoo on his Facebook along with the caption, “Ladies and Gentlemen, behold the mighty awesomeness of my new TATTOO!! It’s a scene from an episode of Dr.Slump/Dr.スランプ アラレちゃん …”

17. ‘Cartoon’ Tattoo

Tattoo: Frederic has another character tattooed on his leg too. His right calf has a tattoo of a pig standing on a branch, wearing a suit, and speaking is seen speaking into a mic. There is a cloud next to him with the word, “HAAAAN” written inside is and there is also a green snake on the leaves of the branch.

Meaning: The tattoo of the pig on his leg is a tribute tattoo for one of his favorites, Akira Toriyama. Akira is the creator of his favorite anime, Dragon Ball and the pig in the tattoo is Oolong, one of the characters from Dragon Ball. Frederic is a huge fan of the series, other manga, and also loves playing video games. He also has a huge collection of Nintendo and Playstation consoles.
