Hailey Bieber used OPI products for her Official Glazed Donut Nails. Here is a breakdown:
- Apply OPI’s GelColor Stay Strong Base Coat; cure for 30 seconds under an LED light.
- Use one coat of OPI’s GelColor in Funny Bunny; cure for 60 seconds.
- Follow with OPI’s GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat; cure again for 60 seconds, then wipe down the nails with an alcohol pad.
- Apply OPI Chrome Effects in Tin Man Can to each nail using a disposable eye shadow applicator; wipe off the excess with a fluffy brush.
- Finish with another Stay Shiny Top Coat layer; cure for 60 seconds.
In the official video posted by, Ganzorigt she picks gel polish from OPI but if you are DIY-ing it, you can also use a regular nail polish to get the same look.
“While matte finishes won’t work for this trend, you can still re-create glazed donut nails using traditional polish,” she adds. “The idea is for the nails to have an almost metallic, surreal reflective quality. I recommend applying a coat of essie’s Expressie FX polish in Iced Out first on bare nails, which has a pearly, iridescent quality. Next, I like to use a sheer white color over top, like the shade Marshmallow, to give the nails that lit-from-within surreal glow we’re after. And lastly, always remember to follow your polish with a gloss top coat.”
The official glazed donut nail trend is done with sheer white nail paint as a base, but because of its popularity, many people have tried to give it a base of various colors.

How can you do it at home?

To get the look you need to prepare the basics and get them right. Make sure your nails are prepared for all the work. Why is it important? Well, it helps the manicure stay for a bit longer, and who wouldn’t want that? Besides, prepping your nail would only take a couple of minutes.
So, remove any previous nail paint and dip your fingertips in a bowl of lukewarm water so that your cuticles can soften up a bit. Then push your cuticles using a cuticle pusher. Be gentle! Use the nipper to nip off any extra skin if required. Make sure you don’t chop off the excess. Now, you need to wipe off the nail with an alcohol-dipped cotton ball. You can even use an acetone-based based nail polish remover for the same. Why to do this? In fact, this will help remove any leftover oil that might cause the nail polish to not stick to the nail properly.
Steps To Get The Glazed Look:
Step 1: Begin by spreading a layer of the base coat which also acts as a part of prepping process
Step 2: Then, use one coat of milky white, shimmer-free nail polish.
Step 3: Then spread over a thin layer of a shimmery white shade. If you feel your shimmery white nail paint is thick, you can add a few drops of nail paint coater to make it thin.
Step 4: Leave your nails for at least 15 minutes to dry. After your nails have dried up completely, you can apply cuticle oil and hand lotion to them. This would just help you have an extra layer of protection.
