Theo Rossi’s 4 Tattoos & Their Meanings

John Theodore Rossi is an American actor and producer. He is best known for playing the character of Juan Ortiz on the FX Series Sons of Anarchy. He also played the character, Hernan Alvarez on Marvel’s Luke Cage.

John has some pretty amazing inks covering his body. He also had a lot of different tattoos for the characters he’s played. Let us take a look at the inks and the meanings they hold.

1. Stomach Tattoo

Tattoo: There is a quote tattooed on the left side of his body in Latin, just below his chest. The quote reads, “Luctor et Emergo”

Meaning: The words on his body roughly translate to, “I struggle and come through”

2. Reaper Tattoo

Tattoo: There is a tattoo of the Grim Reaper on the upper side of his left forearm. The reaper has a hood over his head, holding a scythe in his right hand and a bomb in his left one with an “A” inside it.

Meaning: The tattoo of the reaper is a matching tattoo that he shares with the members of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club.

3. Skull Tattoo

Tattoo: There is a tattoo of a half-rotten skull on his right upper arm that is surrounded by little designs and banners with words written on them. The designs include little weapons, an upside-down cross, and snakes. There is another screaming skull tattooed on the upper side of his left forearm.

4. ‘Wings and Words’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The left wrist of the actor has a pair of wings tattooed around it along with a few words tattooed with the wings for his child.

Meaning: The tattoo represents his love for his son, Kane Alexander Rossi.
