Jesus Steven Manuel Rodriguez Paulino, better known by his stage name, ASAP Yams, was an American rapper, associated with the ASAP Mob. The ASAP in his name stood for, “Always Strive And Prosper”. He died on 18 January 2015 at the age of 26, which was ruled as an overdose of mixed drug intoxication, but his crew members said that it was because of symptoms of Sleep Apnea. ASAP Yams had some interesting inks on his body. Let us look at the ones he had and the meaning behind them.
Face Tattoos
1. ‘Cross and Cutthroat’
Tattoo: Steven’s left cheek contained a tattoo of a cross on it. His forehead, just above his left eyebrow, contained the word, “Cutthroat” tattooed on it.
Meaning: The cross on his cheek represented his religious views.
2. ‘Number and Letter’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The right side of his forehead contained the number “109” tattooed on it vertically. The letter, “A” was also tattooed on the side of his right eye.

3. ‘Skull’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The left side of Steven’s neck contained a large tattoo of a skull on it.
4. ‘NY’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The right side of the rapper’s neck contained a tattoo of the letters, “NY” on it forming the logo of New York.
Meaning: ASAP got this tattoo as a tribute to his city. Steven was born and grew up in Harlem, New York.
Chest and Stomach Tattoos
5. ‘Pyramid’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The rapper’s right pec contained a tattoo of a pyramid on it with the topmost triangular block, elevated above the rest of the pyramid. There is also an eye tattooed inside the floating triangle with rays of light emitting from it.
Meaning: The tattoo design is common in the Christian religion and is one of the tattoos that represent the same. The eye inside the triangle is known as the Eye of Providence, which is said to be the eye of God watching over humanity.
6. ‘Cartoon’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The left pec of the rapper contained a tattoo of the face of a cartoon pig along with the words, “FUCK THE POLICE” tattooed around it.
Meaning: The cartoon on his chest is Porky Pig from Looney Tunes, one of his favorites, growing up. The words represented a part of his ASAP crew and rap culture.
7. ‘Name’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The upper part of his chest contained the name, “Marissa” tattooed across it.
8. ‘212’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The number, “212” was tattooed across the rapper’s belly.
9. ‘Words’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The area above his belly button contained the word, “LET’S” and the area below it contained the word, “FUCK” tattooed on it.
Meaning: The words together made the sentence, “Let’s Fuck”, one of his favorite tattoos.
Arm and Hand Tattoos
10. ‘Flag’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The lower side of his right forearm contained a tattoo of a flag on it.
Meaning: The flag contains the design of the flag of Puerto Rico but has a different color scheme, including black. This tattoo represents one of ASAP Yams’ nicknames as he was called the Puerto Rican Bobby Brown.
11. ‘Gun and Quote’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The lower side of his left forearm contained a tattoo of an assault rifle on it. The words, “Down since birth” were also tattooed on the side of his left wrist.
Meaning: The gun on his arm is an AK 47.
12. ‘Rotten Apple’ Tattoo
Tattoo: Yams’ left upper arm and shoulder contained a tattoo of a girl on it, wearing a bikini along with the crown of the Statue of Liberty. The words, “Rotten Apple” are tattooed just below the girl.
13. ‘MOBBLIFE’ Tattoo
Tattoo: Each of Yams’ fingers contained a letter tattooed on it. Both of his hand put together formed the sentence, “MOBB LIFE” with the letters tattooed on his fingers.
Meaning: The tattoo represents the ASAP Mob and all its members.
14. ‘East Side’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The upper side of his right hand contains a tattoo of the word, “East” tattooed on it in front of a background of buildings from the New York skyline on it. The upper side of his left hand contains the word, “Side” tattooed on it with patterns in its background.
Meaning: The words on his hands together form the words, “EAST SIDE” which represents the part of New York where he grew up. Steven was born in Harlem, which comes in the East Side of New York City.
