Kevin Wayne Durant is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Kevin has multiple inks on his body which were never known to the public until recently when he revealed that his chest was covered with various tattoos. The majority of his body inks are related to his religious beliefs. He has claimed to receive the tattoos on the areas which are usually not visible to eyes. Tattoo: On Kevin’s left leg there is a portrait of the American Rapper, Tupac Shakur.

Meaning: Kevin has multiple times claimed that he has been influenced a lot by the political works and attitude of Tupac, as to how Tupac always stood for the strong beliefs that he had.

Tupac was known for being woke, being politically incorrect, having a voice, and standing up for himself, standing up for what he believes is right. He expressed that in his music, he expressed that in interviews, he expressed that through his movies, through his artistic work. It’s way bigger than him being an artist or making a hot-ass song or having a No. 1 record. It’s that at that age, for you to be thinking about the stuff you were thinking about, at 22, 23 years old, and he died at 25, like … young people don’t think like that.

“So for him to have that type of mindset at that age where he’s projected to be around, today would’ve been like Gandhi, you know what I’m saying? Or like Nelson Mandela-type intelligence for our culture, our people, our voice as being from the neighborhood. He meant so much to having me just think a different way. From watching him, following his story, following every interview I can.”

2. Portrait of Rick James

Tattoo: Kevin has got another portrait on his body which is of the American Singer, Rick James, and is inked on his left thigh.

Meaning: Kevin has always been the believer of his own thoughts and political views. In an interview, Kevin also said that he strongly stands for his self freedom and during his childhood, he was greatly inspired by the American Singer. Moreover on weekends when Jams used to be played, Rick was always on rotation, so Rick has always been an important part of Kevin’s life.

“Rick James personified freedom. He personified just being you, loving and caring for what you like, what you believe in. On top of that, every black family played the jams on the weekends when you had to clean up … anytime when it’s weekend, moms, grandma, they played the jams, so Rick James was in the rotation. Tattoo: Towards the right side of his lower-middle back, Kevin has a tattoo which contains the wordings from the Bible Verse, James 1:2-4, that reads,

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

However, the ink on his back had the word “mautre” instead of “mature”.

4. Portrait of Jesus Christ

Tattoo: On the left side of the bible verse tattoo on his back, Kevin has a tattoo which is another representation of Kevin’s strong belief in his religious values and faith-based on Christianity.

5. Angel holding a Basketball and Number 35 Tattoo

Tattoo: On the top of his back there is a huge angel tattoo that covers the most of his upper back’s skin. The angel has open wings and is inked with a basketball in its hands. A little below the angel tattoo there are two hands inked here the fingers are bent to display the number 35.

Meaning: Angels are obviously considered to be the symbol and harbingers of good luck and the basketball inked in the angel’s hand means Kevin wishes nothing but good luck to achieve success in his matches. Whereas 35 depicts Kevin Durant’s number.

6. ‘Maryland’ Tattoo

Tattoo: Across the upper side of his back across his shoulder blades, Kevin got the word ‘Maryland‘ inked.

Meaning: “Maryland” is Kevin’s home state

Tattoo: Above his right pec, Kevin has a tattoo of a dove bird inked followed by the name, Barbara tattooed right under it.

Meaning: Barbara Durant is the name of Kevin’s grandmother, to whom Kevin claims to be too close. She was the one to raise him when his parents got divorced and his father left him when he was just 13 years old. Dove bird here is the symbol of love, besides being the symbol of fresh beginnings.

8. ‘Rose and Wanda’ Tattoo

Tattoo: Above Kevin’s left pec, Kevin has the tattoo of a rose inked. And just below the light shaded rose there is another tattoo (Wanda) which is the name of his mother i.e Wanda Durant.

Meaning: Kevin is very close to two ladies of his life, his grandmother (Barbara Durant) and his mother, Wanda Durant. This tattoo is his dedication to his love for his mother.

9. A biblical inscription from Proverbs 15:33 and Cross Tattoo

Tattoo: Kevin has another biblical inscription inked on the lower right side of his stomach. There is a huge well-designed cross inked along its side. The inscription says, “The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor Proverbs 15:33″.

Meaning: Getting the biblical references inked is the clear symbol that Kevin is the huge preacher of the teachings of his religion i.e Christianity. The tattoo symbolizes that one should be fearful of God and only then one can achieve wisdom and success. Moreover, we need to be humble if we wish to gain some honors in life.

11. Curly “W” Tattoo

Tattoo: There is a tattoo of the letter ‘W’ inked above Kevin’s navel.

Meaning: ‘W’ represents Kevin’s hometown i.e Washington and is the Washington Nationals logo

12. Hut and 301 Tattoo.

Tattoo: On the left side of Kevin’s lower stomach area, there is a house inked along with the number 301 below it. Also in front of the home, a manly figure is tattooed. When once asked about the tattoo that he hates the most, Kevin had pointed towards this ink.

Meaning: The hut is assumed to be Kevin’s ancestral home as it is inked just near to the ‘W’ tattoo which he claims to represent his hometown.
