Joana Heidrich’s Tattoo & Its Meaning

Joana Heidrich is a Swiss beach volleyball player. She represented her country, along with Nadine Zumkehr at the 2016 Olympics. She also represented Switzerland again with Anouk Vergé-Dépré, at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

1. ‘Rio Olympics’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The right side of her body has a tattoo of the words, “Rio 2016” on it along with the Olympic Rings.

Meaning: The tattoo of the Olympic Rings on her side represents the unity of the five continents and the athletes of the whole world, coming together. Joana got this tattoo as a tribute to her first appearance at the Olympic Games.
