Kane Allen Brown is a famous American singer and songwriter who was brought up by a single mother from the time when his father was incarcerated. Kane gained all his following and much of his career recognition via his social media, that too from homemade videos that he used to upload. By birth, Kane is multiracial, his mother is white, and an African-American father. He is known to have attended multiple schools during his childhood. Besides his music capabilities, Kane is highly famous for his heavily tattooed body. There are few, but widely spread designs that adorn his body from top to bottom. In this article, we will walk you through the various tattoo designs on Kane’s body and the stories behind these.
1. Chest Tattoo
NEW PIECE
Tattoo: Across his chest, Kane has got a huge batman tattooed. This is the cover-up to his previous tattoos, which included a cross on his right pec and lines from John 3:16, from The Holy Bible on his left pec. These tattoos were related to his religious beliefs. The previous tattoos were done when he was 18 years though he had tried getting one when he was 16 years old.
Meaning: Kane wanted to get the cross and holy lines inked on his complete back, but his tattoo guy was on drugs. As per Kane’s wish, he wanted three skulls to cover up his chest. But, it did not go the way Kane wanted.
“We tried to get a tattoo when I was 16, but you couldn’t get it anywhere unless you went to Alabama and had your parents sign.”
“I [had] just turned eighteen; I got it for my birthday. I grew up in a real Christian family. I always went to church every Sunday and Wednesday. It was just something I had in my mind for a while, [and] I wanted something on my chest, and that’s what we got.”
When asked about his batman tattoo, Kane said,
“”I have Batman that goes all the way across my chest. The guy that was doing my tattoos, let’s just say he was in a very bad place. I had the bible verse and a cross, and I was gonna put it on my back, and it would just be my whole back with a bible verse and a cross. And, I needed something to cover it up because I wanted a chest piece, so we were going to do three skulls. The way tattoos work, if you don’t shade enough, then you’ll see something that comes underneath it. He was on a drug while he was doing my tattoo, and I didn’t know it. He got arrested after I left, so after I came back I was like, ‘hey you need to finish this,’ and he was like, ‘I thought I did finish it.’ And I was like, ‘dude, what are you talking about?’ He was like, ‘there’s no way I’m going to be able to finish that.’
2. Chinese Symbol on Neck
Tattoo: On the left side of his neck, Kane has got a Chinese symbol tattooed.
Meaning: The Chinese symbol is believed to stand for ‘Love‘. He got the tattoo done along with his mother as a matching ink on the occasion of mother’s day.
“I got this one [Chinese symbol] on Mother’s day with my mom, and it means to love. So it’s pretty cool. My mom found it. And then, we made sure it meant love before we got it.”
“I regret these [the Chinese symbol and music notes], but I don’t regret them at the same time because [otherwise] I would be in the army; I wouldn’t be doing music. But, I want to get just the arms, and chest, and then my back. Just leave the stomach open.”
3. Microphone Tattoo
Tattoo: Kane’s left hand is covered with a very clean microphone tattoo.
Meaning: The tattoo was a microphone initially, but later he got an additional design done to make it look like a guitar that goes towards his left forearm and seems to rip his skin. His initial idea was to get a piano. The microphone is the biggest symbol of reflecting that the tattoo wearer relates to music and singing.
“This was one of my latest tattoos. I got it while I was at FedEx [around] 2014. I knew what I wanted already, but it started with a hand and it kinda looked dumb just having a microphone on my hand. So I was like ‘I need to go ahead and get this finished.’ So it turns into a guitar [that looks] like it’s ripping through my skin. At first, we were going to do a piano, and then we decided to do the guitar.
4. Musical Notes Tattoo
Tattoo: There are musical notes inked on the right side of Kane’s neck.
Meaning: Musical notes are used to portray the tattoo wearer’s devotion to music, singing, and love for the production and creation of music. Kane got musical notes tattooed as the matching tattoo with his grandmother.
“Then I got this one, it’s music notes [and] my grandmother has it in the same place. And if I [didn’t get] them, I’d be in the army right now, and I wouldn’t be doing music.”
5. Georgia Tattoo
Tattoo: On the inner side of his left forearm, Kane has got the tattoo of the word, ‘Georgia.’ The letters of the word are tattooed over the piano keys.
Meaning: Kane was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. He said that he got Georgia inked in the form of guitar keys to remember that he was born in Georgia and belongs there.
6. Left Forearm Tattoo
Tattoo: On his left forearm, there is a guitar tattooed on the inner side and FedEx boxes on the outer arm. This is another of his not so decided tattoo. He wanted to get the piano inked along with the microphone in his hand. But, the tattoo artist did the piano. There are FedEx boxes inked too.
“It is not ideal when you’re dealing with boxes at FedEx. “Everybody was like ‘that was kind of a dumb tattoo to get while you were working at FedEx,’ but it just motivated me more to keep going with music, and trying to succeed, because if I wouldn’t have succeeded I wouldn’t have been able to really get another job.”
7. Snake Tattoo
Tattoo: On the outer side of his right forearm, Kane has a tattoo of a snake.
Meaning: Snake is the symbol of creative life force and fertility. Snakes are known to shed their skins thus, acting as the token of transformation, healing, and rebirth. Snake is also symbolic of knowledge, wisdom, and patience.
However, Kane’s reason to get a snake tattooed is to overcome his fear of life i.e., the snake itself. He wanted to conquer his fears.
Tattoo serves as a reminder to conquer your fears. “This one’s a snake and that’s one of my biggest fears. And I just .. you know .. conquer your fears.”
8. Three Skulls with Roses
Tattoo: On the inner side of his right forearm, Kane has another interesting tattoo that includes three skulls with roses.
Meaning: The three skulls have been used as a way of representing three wise monkeys who stand for, “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil“. The skull is symbolic of life and death, whereas the rose is symbolic of love, romance, and beauty. Together they are sued to represent the struggle between evil versus good in life.
Kane’s belief was to give a new shape to the idea of three monkeys and turn them into aspects of three skulls. Hereby, the skull with a rose in his mouth represents ‘speak no evil,’ a rose in the skull’s ear represents ‘hear no evil’, and a rose in the skull’s eye represents, ‘see no evil’.
“This one is three skulls, and the rose is over his mouth is for speak no evil, this one’s in his ear for hear no evil, and this one’s in his eye for see no evil. Instead of the three monkeys, I decided to do skulls and flowers.”
7. Wolf Tattoo
Tattoo: There is a wolf inked on his body.
Meaning: This was another of his matching tattoo, which he got along with his tour manager. Wolf represents strength, spiritual protection, loyalty, and courage. Some people also get wolf inked for family, devotion, love, and luck. Kane and his tour manager got it inked to represent that their group is a wolfpack and sticks together. They got the tattoo done by the tattoo artist, Bubba Irwin, who was also part of Ink Master and has been Kane’s fan and now, a friend.
“The dude that did this was on Ink Master, and we’re actually good friends now, and he’s a fan. His minimum’s like $800 for a tattoo, and I thought I was gonna have to pay for it, and he was like just gimme a shout out, and we just became friends. Everybody in my band is getting one. My tour manager has one right now, we’re the only ones that got one, but we’re just a wolf pack. We’re loyal to each other and we’re like a family. You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us.”
8. Angel Wings Tattoo
Tattoo: Across his shoulders, Kane has got angel wings tattooed.
Meaning: Angel wings are the symbol of faith, freedom, and independence. Some people also get angel wings to showcase the love for a loved one who is no more alive. It is also the biggest token of Christian beliefs and faith reminding the tattoo wearer of his angelic side.
“One day I want to have angel wings, so might as well just go ahead and get them now, right?”
9. Gorilla Tattoo
Tattoo: In order to cover up his left sleeve, Kane got a gorilla inked on his left arm. The tattoo was done by his favorite tattoo artist, Ink Master, Bubba Irwin, in July 2020.
Meaning: The gorilla is often assumed as a scary animal and associated with the qualities of being powerful, aggressive, and ferocious. However, a gorilla can also mean dignity, loyalty, compassion, and leadership.
“I’m to the point now where I have so many tattoos I don’t even care anymore”, “I was like, ‘Sure, I’ll get a tattoo.’ I was trying to fill in space for my sleeve so I was like, ‘Throw a gorilla on there.’
10. Rose on hand
Tattoo: On his right hand, Kane has got a beautifully outlined rose inked.
Meaning: Rose, is the universal symbol of love. It reflects a close relationship between the couple or love for someone who is no more alive. Some people also get rose tattoos in lieu of friendship and close bonds.
