Mariano Díaz Mejía is a Spanish-Dominican professional football player. Mariano plays for the Spanish giants, Real Madrid in La Liga and has also represented Lyon. He played for the Dominican National Team but retired in the hopes of being called up to represent Spain. Meaning: The baby angels called cherubins were protectors of God and Heaven and the tattoo here, goes along with that of Baby Jesus on his upper arm and symbolises protection for both him and the individual.

Tattoo: The outer side of his left forearm contains a Spanish quote tattooed on it.
4. Cross Tattoo
Tattoo: The upper side of his left forearm contains a tattoo of a large cross tattooed on it. There is also a rosary beaded necklace wrapped around the cross.
Meaning: A cross with a rosary chain serves as a double representation ie the cross as a representation of Jesus, while the rosary beads represent his mother, the Virgin Mary. The rosary chain is often used for prayers and symbolises a deep faith in God.
5. ‘Cherub and Dates’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The inner side of his left forearm contains a tattoo of a cherub, holding a football in his hands. The football also has wings. The background of the tattoo design is done with a pattern of dark clouds. There are also four dates tattooed on the inner side of his left wrist.
Meaning: The tattoo of the football with wings, being held by the cherub represents how much he loves the sport he plays and the cherub is there, acting as the protector. The dates on his wrist are the date of births of his parents, Mariano Díaz and Mariana Mejía, and his spouse, Yaiza Moreno.
6. Back Tattoo
Tattoo: There is a tattoo on the lower back of the footballer, right on his waistline that has not been fully seen yet.
7. Side Tattoo
Tattoo: The right side of his body contains another quote tattooed on it that reads, “…trust in dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.”
