Alvin Nathaniel Joiner, better known by his stage name, Xzibit is an American actor, rapper, TV host, and songwriter. He rose to fame with his debut album, “At The Speed Of Life” in 1996. The album was a hit, and so was his second one that landed him an opportunity to work with Dr. Dre who produced his third album, Restless. He has also appeared in XXX: State of the Union, as Shyne Johnson in the television series, Empire. He also hosted the MTV show, Pimp My Ride.
Xzibit has many interesting inks on his body. Let us take a look at them and the meanings behind them.
1. ‘3.8’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The number, “3.8” is tattooed on the left shoulder of the rapper.
Meaning: The number holds significant meaning for Xzibit. The 3 represents the word, “Tre” and the 8 represents the day on which Tre was born. Xzibit got this tattoo for his kid, Tre Capital who was born on 8 June 1995.
2. Design Tattoo
Tattoo: There is an emblem design tattooed on Xzibit’s left forearm, near his elbow.
3. Symbol Tattoo
Tattoo: The inside of his left forearm has two Japanese symbols tattooed on it inside a circular design. These are not the only Japanese characters on his body as you will soon find out.
4. Letters Tattoo
Tattoo: The side of his left forearm has a large “X” tattooed on it and the side of his right one has a “Z” tattooed on it in a similar fashion.
Meaning: The tattoo of the XZ on his forearms represents his stage name, Xzibit.
5. ‘X’ Tattoo
Tattoo: There is another X tattooed on Xzibit’s body. His left pec also has a giant “X” tattooed on it.
Meaning: The tattoo of the “X” on his chest represents the name of his beloved son, Xavier Kingston Joiner. Xavier was born in 2008. Xzibit also has a daughter named Tremaine.
6. ‘Big Pun and RIP’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The inside of his right forearm has a few words tattooed on it. The name, “NENA” is tattooed just below his elbow. His forearm also has the words, “RIP” followed by the name, “BIG PUN” tattooed below it with red, white, and blue colors inside. The words, “Always & Forever” are also tattooed below the name along with swirly lines to decorate the text.
Meaning: The tattoo of RIP Big Pun on his forearm is a tribute tattoo for Big Pun. Big Pun (short for Big Punisher) was a rapper who died in 2000. Big Pun and Xzibit were really close to each other so Xzibit got a tribute tattoo for his fallen friend.
7. ‘Angel’ Tattoo
Tattoo: There is a naked angel tattooed on the rapper’s right bicep. Only the upper body of the angel is tattooed on his arm along with two large wings.
Meaning: The tattoo is meant to portray his beautiful wife, Krista Joiner.
8. ‘Axe’ Tattoo
Tattoo: There is another set of Japanese characters tattooed on Xzibit’s right upper arm near the angel. Above the characters is a tattoo of an arm emerging from the ground, holding an axe in its hand with a symbol of the blade.
Meaning: The logo on his arm is called, “Bras Armé” in French and translates to, “The Arm and The Axe“. The tattoo is actually a logo. This is the logo that is used by Hennessy for their products and was derived from Richard Hennessy’s family crest. However, the logo came in use long after his death in 1856. The tattoo might represent his love for Hennessy Cognac.
9. ‘Lost Angel’ Tattoo
Tattoo: Xzibit’s most known tattoo are the words, “LOST ANGEL” tattooed across his upper back. The word, “RESTLESS” is also tattooed above the words, on his neck.
Meaning: The tattoo of the word, “Restless” represents the name of his third studio album, Restless which was produced by Dr. Dre.
