YG (Rapper) 18 Tattoos & Their Meanings

Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson, popularly known by his stage name, YG is an American rapper and actor. He released his debut album alongside Ty Dolla Sign in 2009 and reached no 67 on the US Billboard Hot 100. He then signed with the Def Ja records and released many more albums. His single, “My Nigga”  peaked at number 19 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2013 and increased his fame. He has since then, many top songs such as Still Brazy, Stay Dangerous, and Big Bank. YG has also appeared in many films such as We the Party, White T, White Boy Rick, and Blame It On the Streets. 1. ‘YG and Quote’ Tattoos

Tattoo: The front part of YG’s neck contains the word, “YG” tattooed on it. The background of the YG contains a scene of guns firing along with a spiderweb and a little spider just below his chin. The front side of his right shoulder contains the word, “thank” and similarly his left shoulder contains the word, “GOD” tattooed on it.

Meaning: YG got this tattoo as it represents his religious views and he also feels that the tattoo protects him from harm.

Tattoo: Both the sides of his head contain a tattoo of a white dove in flight. The tattoo is completed by the clouds which also join the doves to the tattoo of the Virgin Mary on his head.

Tattoo: The backside of his head contains the number, 1990 tattooed on it along with a few words in a foreign language. The lower part of the backside of his head contains a tattoo of a rose surrounded by two banners which contain the words, “In God We Trust” written inside them.

Meaning: 1990 is the year in which YG was born. The rose along with the words is another one of his religious tattoos.

5. ‘Cherubs and Cross’ Tattoos

Tattoo: Either side of his chest contains a large tattoo of a cherub with a small straw in its hand trying to hit each other with mashed paper balls through the straw’s help just like kids. The middle part of his chest along with his stomach contains a large tattoo of a cross. Just above the cross, are the words, “I’m ALREADY A LEGEND” tattooed. The upper part of his chest along with his collar bones and shoulders are covered in a large and long tattoo of buildings making the skyline.

Meaning: The cherubs and the cross represent his religious side. The buildings on his chest and shoulders represent the city where he grew up, Compton, California. The tattoo goes well with his neck tattoo and shows what he went through. There are also small street pokes, dollar signs, and a few gang signs tattooed here and there near the buildings.

Tattoo: The front side of his stomach contains a poem tattooed on it. The poem reads,

Meaning: These words are actually lyrics from a song by Lil Wayne which he liked very much. The name of the song is, “Tha Mobb”

7.  ‘Lost Angels and RIP’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The backside of his neck contains a tattoo of the words, “RIP Dollar” along with wings on either side. His back is covered in a very special tattoo. The upper side of his back contains a large tattoo of the words, “LOST ANGELS” tattooed on it. The words are on flames which rise upwards and reach his shoulders. Below the tattoo is a tattoo of a baby angel with a halo ring over his head, emitting rays of shine. The baby angel is also holding a mic and is performing a song.

Meaning: The RIP tattoo is for somebody very special in his life whom he lost. YG got the tattoo as he is from Los Angeles County. While talking about the tattoo, he said, “I got this one to represent that I’m from Los Angeles County. I’m from a place where you come across a lot of good people that have good hearts, good souls and good intentions, but they’re surrounded by things that end up corrupting them. So that’s what that tattoo is about, me being a lost angel, you feel me?”

Tattoo: The right side of his body contains a tattoo of a large badge which contains a red star along with the words, “BOMPTON ALL STAR” tattooed inside it.

Meaning: Bompton is the nickname for the LA-area of Compton, California. The nickname was given to the area by the Bloods Gang. YG got this tattoo on his body as he feels like the Bompton star and boasts about how he has made the city more recognizable and has put it on the map. YG got this tattoo in 2010.

9. ‘1990’ Tattoo

Tattoo: The lower part of his stomach contains a tattoo of the words, “Est. 1990” on it in front of a brick wall design.

Meaning: YG got this tattoo as he was born in 1990.

Tattoo: The outer side of his right forearm contains the word, “PUSHAZ” tattooed on it.

Meaning: YG got this tattoo on his arm to show his love for his fellow singer and a good friend, Pushaz.

Tattoo: The right shoulder of the rapper contains a tattoo of four outlines of human figures on it along with a band below them. His right upper arm is covered in tattoos of more buildings and in the front of the buildings is a tattoo of a man. His shoulder also contains the number 87 tattooed on it.

Meaning: The figures coming together give the appearance of a crown which has a deeper meaning that only one who has loved ones by his sides his the true King. The tattoo of the man standing in front of the buildings on his right upper arm is a tattoo of himself back from his gangster days while growing up. YG still remembers his bad side and his struggles so he got this tattoo on his body to remind him to stay safe and keep moving forward.

Tattoo: YG’s left bicep contains a tattoo of a cartoon character on it. Just above the cartoon is a tattoo of a dove.

Meaning: The cartoon is actually the alien from the movie, Chicken Little. The dove is another one of the tattoos which show his peaceful side.

Meaning: YG got these tattoos to show his love for music. He is passionate about making music which shows in his songs and is thankful for everything he has achieved in his career.

Tattoo: The inner side of his left forearm contains a tattoo of a cartoon scarecrow. The part of his forearm, near his wrist contains a tattoo of the word, “Horizons” on it. The rest of his sleeve is completed by a small tattoo of two stick figures near his elbow, shooting each other over money and music notes and diamonds on his forearm.

Meaning: The stick figures represent the time in YG’s life when he was a thug and did bad things. The music notes represent his love for music.

15. Patterns Tattoo

Tattoo: The upper side of his right forearm contains a tattoo of a large pattern formed out of different shapes and designs inside them. His sleeve is completed by roughly shaped music notes which are also seen in some of the patterns on his forearm.

Tattoo: YG’s right hand contains a tattoo of a crescent moon along with two circular shapes and a logo of the letter, B joined with its mirror image. His right hand also contains a tattoo of four 100 dollar bills on its side and a word tattooed on its side. The rapper’s left hand contains a tattoo of a scary face with a cloak over its head along with a word tattooed on its side. Both of his hand’s knuckles contain little tattoos of dollar signs, diamonds, stars, and little shapes.

17. Trust Nobody Tattoo

Tattoo: The sides of his thumbs each contain a word tattooed on it. His left thumb contains the word, “Trust” and his right one contains the word, “Nobody” on it.

Meaning: The words come together to form the sentence, Trust Nobody. While talking about the tattoo, YG explained how a few years back when he became successful, he was surrounded by many people because he was suddenly rich and that’s when he started doubting everyone and hence he decided to get this tattoo, not to trust anybody.

18. Leg Tattoos

Tattoo: YG’s legs contain four tattoos which have rarely been seen. The first one is a small tattoo on the right thigh where a few words are inked. The second one is the front side of his right lower leg where there is a tattoo of a large design. The third one and arguably the most important one is a tattoo of the face of Jesus Christ on the front side of his left leg. There are also a few bible verses tattooed around the portrait of Christ. His left thigh also contains a few lines tattooed on them but they are faded now and hardly legible.

Meaning: The tattoos are hardly visible so it is challenging to make out what they say. YG is religious and that is why he must have gotten the tattoo of Christ, to represent his religious views.
