KiDi’s 13 Tattoos & Their Meanings

Dennis Nana Dwamena is famous for the stage name KiDi. He is a well-known Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer, songwriter, and producer. Currently, KiDi is signed to Lynx Entertainment, MadeInENY, EMPIRE. Rewarding and appreciating his world-famous hit single song  ‘Ɔdɔ’, he was rewarded at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards with Highlife Song of the Year followed by the Vocalist of the Year at the 2019 Ghana Music Awards, and the Album of the Year for his debut album Sugar at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards. 1. Black Bands Tattoo

Tattoo: KiDi has got black armbands tattooed across his left upper and lower arm. There are three bands on his bicep followed by the thinner ones on his forearm.

Meaning: Balck is the symbol of death and mourning. The black bands are on=bserved as the way of paying tribute to a loved one who is no more. The black stripes on his arm are dedicated to his family members. The biggest one on the top is for his father, followed by the lower two which represent his mourning for his mum’s mum and dad’s mum.

Tattoo: On his right arm, KiDi has got the logo of ‘THE GOLDEN BOY’ inked.

Meaning: The ‘Golden Boy’ is the name of the second studio album released by KiDi on 23 June 2021. His songs have always revolved around love, affection, and romance. The tattoo is the actual representation of the logo of ‘The Golden Boy’.

3. ‘BLUE’ Tattoo

Tattoo: Under his right pec, KiDi has got the tattoo of the word ‘BLUE’ inside a rectangular box.

Meaning: Blue is the name of the album by KiDi. Its EP was released by KiDi on Apple Music after a long wait. He said that he shall have the name of every project inked on his body just like ‘BLUE’.

4. Cross on Right Arm Tattoo

Tattoo: There is a cross tattooed on the inners die of KiDi’s right inner forearm.

Meaning: Cross is The Holy Symbol of Christians. It represents Jesus Christ. Thus, this tattoo is symbolic of the fact that KiDi is a Christian and holds strong faith in Jesus and his blessings.

The four ends of the cross represent the four points to which JESUS was crucified. It is highly sacred and religious. This is what KiDi had to say about his cross tattoo. He said that it protects him from all the evils and wrongs.

Tattoo: On the left side of his stomach, KiDi has got the various emoticons inked.

Meaning: There is a demon face, a smiling face with glares, a sleeping smiley, a hand, and a sad face inked. In an interview, he said that the emoticons actually represent his five constant moves. The first is the devil (that’s him), the second one is a face with glares (that represents his shy nature), the third one again represents him when he is at home and sleeping, fourth is his representation of time with his fans (his bubbly side) when he is busy taking pictures, and the last is his smiley face when he is at home, alone.

“These represent my five constant moods. The first is the demon, the second is me, I wear glares always and I am smiling, but when I am at home I am sleeping, so third is sleeping emoticon, if I am not sleeping then I am out taking pictures with my fans, and then when I am back home, I am sad.”

6. ‘SUGAR’ Tattoo

Tattoo: On his right pec, KiDi has got the word, ‘SUGAR’ inked.

Meaning: SUGAR is the name of KiDi’s first album that was released in 2019.

“I have [on] my chest, I have Zane, that’s my son’s name and then I have Sugar, the name of my first album. It’s now symbolic; now, it’s like no matter how much I grow, if I’m fifty, I’ll always remember that it was iconic at a time in my life…”

Tattoo: Above his left pec, KiDi has got the name of his son inked. the tattoo reads ‘ZANE’. He later got the tiger eyes tattooed above the name of his son. Tiger eyes symbolize courage, confidence, and intellectual personality.

Tattoo: The number ’93’ is inked on his left upper arm.

Meaning: 93 represents the last two digits of his birth year. KiDi was born on 18 August 1993.

9. ‘BLESSED’ Tattoo

In an interview, he claimed that it is the initials of his mother.

Meaning: In an interview, KiDi talked about his anxiety issues and said that this tattoo reminds him to be calm and breathe through all of it.

Meaning: 26-11-16 actually represents the date when his son, Zane was born quoting it as ’26 November 2016

Meaning: As promised by KiDi, he seems to be going ahead with the tattoos of his project albums and songs. This tattoo represents the album that was released by KiDi in 2020.
