René Pérez Joglar, better known by his stage name, Residente, is a Puerto Rican rapper, writer, singer, filmmaker, and also a founder of the rap group, Calle 13. He started his solo career in 2015 after releasing five albums with Calle 13 and has won 4 Grammy Awards and 27 Latin Grammy Awards.
Residente has many tattoos on his body, many of them being for his loved ones. Let us take a look at his inks and the meanings behind them.
1. ‘Acuarela’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The left side of the rapper’s neck has a tattoo of the word, “Acuarela” on it.
Meaning: The tattoo of the word represents one of his favorite songs, Aquarela by Toquinho.
2. Portrait Tattoo
Tattoo: The left shoulder of the singer has a large tattoo of the portrait of a woman’s face on it. There are also two flowers tattooed below the portrait along with the name, “Flor”.
Meaning: The portrait on his shoulder is of Residente’s mother, Flor Joglar de Gracia, whom he adores very much.
3. Name Tattoo
Tattoo: The side of Residente’s left forearm has the name, “Amelia” tattooed on it. There are also guitar strings emerging from the “A” in the name and a tree is tattooed behind the name that reaches up and covers the area around the rapper’s elbow.
Meaning: The tattoo of the name represents his love for his grandmother, Flor Amelia de Gracia.

Tattoo: The left hand of the rapper has a portrait of a little boy tattooed on it.
Meaning: The portrait on his hand is of his beloved son, Milo Pérez Fandiño. Milo was born in 2014 and Residente split with Soledad, Milo’s mother in 2017.

Tattoo: The inside of Residente’s left forearm has a list of names tattooed on it. The names are, “Milena, Eduardo, Margarita, Gabriel, Ileana, Tamara, Adrian”
Meaning: The names on his forearm are the names of his family members, Eduardo Cabra and Gabriel Cabra, his brothers, and Ileana, his sister.
6. Silhouette Tattoo
Tattoo: The upper part of Residente’s right arm has a tattoo of a silhouette of a woman on it.
7. ‘Lines and Elephant’ Tattoo
Tattoo: The inside of his right wrist has a tattoo of three scribbled lines on it. There is also a tattoo of a drawing of an elephant inside his forearm with the words, “LF ant!” tattooed below it.
