Valentina Shevchenko’s 6 Tattoos & Their Meanings

Valentina Anatolievna Shevchenko is a famous Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian professional mixed martial artist. She is also a former Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko is known to have made her professional debut in mixed martial arts at the mere age of 15 years on April 21, 2003, at the Kyrgyz Federation of Kulatuu. Whereas her professional boxing debut was recorded on May 8, 2010, at Coliseo Marott. Valentina currently competes in the women’s Flyweight division for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Tattoo: There is an emblem along with some words inked on Valentina’s left shoulder. it actually contains two snow leopards in a unique style.

Meaning: This is the first tattoo that Valentina got in the year 2006. It is the emblem of the Federation of Thai boxing of the Kirghiz Republic. She got it inked after participating in The World Championship of Muay Thai in Thailand. It was also the emblem of her (trainer at that time), Pavel Fedotov’s training club. The emblem has two snow leopards in the style of the Kyrgyz national pattern.

“The first, on my shoulder, I had done in 2006 after the World Championship of Muay Thai in Thailand (it was the 4th World championship in which I took part) On it the emblem of the Federation of Thai boxing of the Kirghiz Republic and the same time emblem of the club of my trainer Pavel Fedotov with whom I have trained all my life since childhood and for whom I am obliged by all achievements which I have. By the way, this emblem is my talisman, on it 2 snow leopards executed in the style of the Kyrgyz national pattern, and in the middle, a fist, in style in-Jan are represented.”

Tattoo: There is another round-shaped logo inked on Valentina’s upper right back. It is designed in the Kyrgyz (The Kyrgyz Republic’s) national pattern.

4. ‘Thai deity of Hanuman’ Tattoo

Tattoo: On the right side of her stomach, Valentina has got another tattoo which is actually the representation of The Thai Deity of Hanuman (Hanuman Sak Yant).

Meaning: This Thai deity of Hanuman is tattooed on the right side of her stomach (Hanuman is of the main characters of the Hindu epic Ramayana and also known as the highly devoted devotee of Rama, Lord of Hindus). The Thai Deity is considered the patron of all the Thai Boxers. She got it inked after being a part of The World championship 2009 (IFMA, Thailand).

Tattoo: On the left side of her lower stomach, Valentina has got the tattoo of her favorite Glock 19 along with the three bullets on the bottom.

Meaning: Her love for shooting is what brought her to the decision of getting this tattoo done. She believes it to be the universal symbol of her security and represents her passion for Glock-19 since it can be used to shoot everywhere and also can be carried easily.

I’ve been involved in shooting sports a lot. It’s one of my biggest passions. Now I feel it has the same part of my life as martial arts,” said ‘Bullet’.

I very love to shoot with Glock. It’s very good gun because it can shoot everywhere. It’s very easy to carry. It can survive in different condition of weather or whatever, and that’s why I have tattoo on my body of a Glock 19,” she added.
